Astra crankshaft sensor?

So my 2005 Astra 1.7CTDI no longer starts when the car is warm [after a 15/20 drive] but if I let the car cool down it will turn over first time and drive fine.

When I drove on the motorway and increase the speed to 110km or 120km it seams to drink coolant.

Pedal test for fault codes shows up as ECN 033529 which I think is a Crankshaft passive sensor?!?

Would a sensor stop the car from starting when warm and increase the coolant temp when driving etc??? anyone else have an astra that didn't start when hot?

Any help would be great as funds are tight. Thanks

I'd imagine you're dealing with two separate issues here.

As regards the starting issue my Saab was doing the same thing and it was the cps.

High coolant temp if the coolant is not low could be the thermostat.

To me it sounds more like it’s a coolant temp sensor. This would make the car not start when it’s to hot. But then again crankshaft sensor would also do the same.
Never mind this pedal test you need someone with a diagnostic computer to plug on to it and check the faults.
    Where u located

A faulty CPS would also cause it to cut out when warm. If it's not doing that I'd start with the temp sensor/ thermostat.

Friend of mine had one of the a few years back with similar coolant drinking symptoms. Head gasket was knackered which is a common issue on this engine. The oil pump lost drive another round on him and was very lucky to have not picked up on any bearings in the engine or turbo. Not the most reliable effort from Opel were this generation of Astra
