    Hi everyone,

Don't know a jot about cars. My 08 Mondeo is due a service. There's a place across the road, which would be handy, not sure if I'm allowed to name them. They are asking for €200 and it's won't include a pollen or fuel filter change. Sound reasonable? Are better deals around Dublin?

    Thanks

Sounds ok, not especially cheap but that's not a reason not to go there if it's convenient and good quality.

No problem naming them if you want some feedback.

Great. It's Atlas Autoservice in Kylemore. There's lots of mechanics around but they look a good place from the outside at least! Open to any other suggestions, I'm new to this area. Don't mind driving a bit further to save a few quid.

    Thanks a mill.

What exactly are they doing for €200 otherwise it's hard to know if it's good value or not.

Oil change, oil filter, air filter and checking over the entire car. €75 is labour they said.

Exactly. A 200eur oil and filter change isn't exactly great value...

Deals on a service. Not for quality mate to be honest. If ur going to get the car serviced do the whole lot oil air fuel and pollen filters wiper blades and if I needs pads get them done also. At least then this time next year it will only need a oil change serviced and you will know exactly where u stand with the services. Do you know any mechanics that could help you out as a nixer if cash is a issue. If u where local to me I’d give u a dig out.

No not particularly stuck on cash just don't want to pay out more than I need to. Just reading the reviews on that place and they are very mixed, what would be a fair price for the work you mentioned? I would like to get the full lot done, pollen, fuel filter and spark plugs are extra with these guys not sure if that's standard?

Yeah, he said €55 for oil. Then €60 for the filters, then tax. I'll have a look somewhere else I think. Looking around and costs vary a lot, guess I'll go cheapest.

Jaysis, a main dealer cheaper than an independent outfit :pac: it must be a typo.

Once again that stated and quotes from 149. Same as most places but in the real world it’s going to up in price

€149 for all cars, starting from €169 for vans.

I used to get my Mondeo serviced in a main Ford dealer, then decided to repay a favour to Advance Pitstop by sending it in there for a service - cost me more in Advance...

Silver covers oil change for 99 and air filter for 149 also price match.

Wouldn’t let advance pit stop near my car for serviceing there a disaster.
But to be fair to them there good at there own area that they specific areas.
