Car repair help

    Hi

I parked my car yesterday on street and was waiting for other cars to pass before opening but judged it slightly wrong and tipped against the last car that passed.
The driver of the car showed me a dent and scratch on rear panel above wheel arch.
I said that I would pay for repair and he agreed.
He sent a quote for 560 euro from a main dealer garage repair which included car rental for two days.

Should I insist on getting 2 or 3 quotes and going with cheapest or do I need to go with what he has chosen?

    Thanks.

Without even seeing the dent, €560 from a main dealer sounds like an ok figure to put a situation like that to bed.

Unfortunately as the liable party you don't get to choose where or by who it is repaired. The other party is within their right to get it repaired at the body shop of their choice. The only alternative is to go through your insurance but I'd bet that will probably end up costing more long term.

Ya to be fair that price isn’t bad for a main dealer but no-one can tell you because we would need to see it. If it wasn’t a fairly new car he prob would of got away with independent panel beater.
But then again it’s his right to bring it where ever he wishes as you where in the wrong. And then if course the dealer would give him car hire as well.
Anyways get us a pic and give us the make and model etc

But I’d be ok with going with that quote considering it’s a main dealer
