    I was reseeding a field and i found this.It looks old and it sems to be made of brass.Just wondering what it is

    Difficult to say from the photos, but it could be a strap end or tag - a metal end added to a leather strap.

    Would it be possible for you to safely clean it so we can see the design.

    what would i clean it with without damaging it.I dont want to go made cleaning it and end up causing more harm than good

    You are right!
    Cleaning archaeological objects is a task for a specialist. The best thing to do is contact the museum.

    Looks like a horse harness buckle or leather attachment possibly from a belt. I've seen similar where the holes allowed the piece to be sown onto a piece of leather
