I have kept the C category on my license but 15/16 years ago they took away the D1 minibus category, i didnt mind as i never drove one. Now ive been asked by a charity do drive for them say, for one week per year . when i looked to get this category…

I passed my test in 1987. I've driven vans and light trucks ever since. I have kept the C category on my license but 15/16 years ago they took away the D1 minibus category, i didnt mind as i never drove one. Now ive been asked by a charity do drive for them say, for one week per year . when i looked to get this category reinstated about 2 years ago, i was told it was too late that i would need to start from scratch, and do the 12 lessons etc. I was recently told by someone, however , that a court case had been taken, and that you now had to be allowed to reinstate such a category . Does anyone know what the current situation actually is, regarding this?
