Hi guys. I have a 2006 Volvo s40. I have an on going issue where the handbrake is very good sometimes (2 clicks and it's held solid) and othertimes where it goes all the way up, is very loose and doesn't hold the car at all. This seems to happen more if I'm facing up a hill. All break pads have been replaced in recent months. Any ideas?

Sounds like some strange issue with the wire perhaps.
Could be several things, you need a professional to look at it.
