Medical Card application questions

    Hi all,
I'm on disability allowance, and have been for years, and I realised I'm eligible for a medical card. I just have a few questions about the online application.
Firstly, I should say that I have no income other than the disability allowance.
The application asks for savings, I have some money saved in a current account, does this count? or does it specifically have to be in a savings account or other institution? The account is just my normal bacnk account, where the weekly payment goes.
Also, for the means test, I have a letter from the department of Social Protection stating clearly the personal rate that I get. is this appropriate?
the online form asks for: "Documentary evidence of payment amount and frequency of payment e.g. Letter from DSP, An Post receipt, bank statement". my rate has not changed since 2016.
    Thanks for the help :)

On your second question the letter from the DSP will be fine so long as it's recently been issued. I'd say in the last two months or sooner. All savings should be included for the means test so that would include money in your current account. But you are allowed to have some savings for the means test so unless you are talking about tens of thousands of euro I wouldn't be too worried.

    Thanks!
I don't have tens of thousands of euros :L
I'll have to get another letter from the DSP, the one I have is from quite a while ago.
