    Hi!

Just wondering if anyone has changed jobs while claiming wfp/fis recently? How long did it take? Hubby has to change jobs due to health reasons and is going straight into another less hazardous job, roughly the same pay. It says on the website you need to cancel and reapply, if it takes the same length as a new application we're going to really struggle without it.

    Any advice appreciated! Xx

You do need to reapply. If you are struggling while waiting then you can apply for an SWA from the CWO to top you up.

I think he only needs to reapply if he has signed on between the two. And when it comes to renewal time, he'll need a new claim.

    Wrong!

"If you move to a new job, your current entitlement to WFP will cease and you must notify the WFP section. You may re-apply for WFP for your new job."

I think they may have changed this in recent years so. Do they change the amount if your new income is higher or lower? A few years ago, my husband was made redundant. Went on part time job seekers as he was picking up a day or 2 of work every week. Got a new full time job about 2 months later but income much lower. Had to submit a new claim but the FIS amount was not increased.

In any event, it doesn't state it either way on the letter they send you what to do if you change employment, just to stop claiming if you are no longer employed or hours drop below 38 a fortnight. They should make it clearer on the letter.
