Test drove one of these today, seemed in generally very good nick. Was very clean on the inside and all the NCT certs lined up to verify a very low mileage.

Only issue was the drivers side rear window wasn't working. Dealer said it is just the regulator, they will repair it.

The window on rear passenger side seems fine, but does not go all the way down - although in some cars this is normal! Can someone confirm that in normal operation the rear windows don't descend all the way into the door?

A lot (almost all)of these had the digital mileage clock changed , so the mileage might not be fully correct , despite the NCTs.
You'd want to be buying it very very right , as there's no shortage of them available.
Not the worst yoke once you buy right and be prepared to,dispose of cheap if something major goes wrong .
don't forget 2007 is over 11 years old and doesn't Benefit from the cheaper 2008 on lower tax rate especially the diesel .

Didn't know it was that easy to change the clock!

In fairness the interior looks in very good condition, very little wear and tear showing on anything. It's a petrol, i wouldn't buy the diesel for my purposes. Dealer is giving a 3 month engine and gearbox warranty with it.

They were batch faulty, new ones zeroed .

Renaults of that vintage can be very problematic with electrics including window regulators that they just go through regularly. Also anything of that vintage being sold by a dealer is not going to have much in the way of comeback as fixing stuff on 11 year old cars eats into their profit. I'd avoid a Scenic of that age to be honest.

    Don't do it.

Pay a bit extra and try to get into the Phase 3 from 2009. Still not faultless but far better than the previous model, which can break your heart with handbrake issues, window regulators and general electrical mayhem.

we had 2 of those mk II Scenics (a regular and then a Grand) - as mentioned handbrakes are problematic, we had to replace the motor unit on both; it's about €400 for a new one (though you can get them on ebay too). Also had issues with the windows (at one point I had one of the rear windows held up by a piece of wood inside the door!) and airbag warnings. The rear windows don't go all the way into the door by design so that's not a fault.

We're now driving a mk III Grand Scenic, which so far has been reliable enough though again some airbag and seatbelt warnings pop up intermittently (in warm weather for some strange reason).

Google water ingress. Drain holes on the bulkhead are prone to blocking resulting in water ingress. Simple enough to fix and well worth doing to avoid very costly repairs.

yeah we had that just after we bought it - the underfloor storage on the passenger side filled up with water. Garage fixed it under warranty and it hasn't happened since.

Worth checking the drain holes every year just to be sure. If they block up again you'll have the same problem.
