    Hello all,

I was offered a 10x5 trailer of turf (no rails) for €200.

Is this about the going rate?

It depends on where you are living and what kind of turf it is. Generally the further away from the bog the dearer it gets.

Here on the atlantic coast we are surrounded by bogs and a full 10 x 6 load, around 5 foot high is €250

The same load further inland is €350-€400

If its good turf, let them see three fiftys in your hand and I bet they take it.

I'm in the Midlands surrounded by bogs. So € 200 sounds about right then.

There's about 3 times as much turf at least in a 10 by 6 by 5ft high.

Not sure where you'd get it for €250 though assuming the 5ft is cribs. It'd cost a lot of that just to buy it flat on the ground freshly cut.

I'd say €150 is closer to the 10 x 5 but it depends on the turf. Good black turf is worth more than brown turf.
