UCD beat Trinity in a friendly yesterday 31-26

Monster u19 second row Paddy Kelly played for Munster A too, must be around 6'8 120kg.

Thomas Clarkson(u19) & Martin Moloney were late additions to Leinster A bench, Ronan Watters also started at 7.

Not sure how seriously injured Scott Penny is.

    Blackrock 29 Wesley 24

    Belvo 32 Mary's 18

Barnhall and Navan played each other in a friendly. Barnhall won 65-7

Essentially Prem 2 for Wesley and Marys
Heard 'Rock game was a cracker. Wesley were meant to have their best side in years by all accounts, very harsh on them when others got through via walkover. Blackrock had likes of Joe Byrne, Steve McLoughlin, Jack Stapleton, Conan Dunne, Alan Francis and Josh Dixon playing. That's some pack.

Did Watters and Co play for Mary's? Would of expected them to push Old Belvedere closer.

    Essentially means a Prem 1 of :

    Lansdowne
    UCD
    Trinity
    Terenure
    Barnhall
    Blackrock
    Old Belvedere
    Clontarf

Watters started for Leinster A on Saturday so presume not, wouldn’t be surprised if he was a dark horse for an academy contract and Ireland 20’s

hardly a dark horse seeing he is playing Leinster A.. has a chance but needs to continue his big season and cement a Ireland u20 starting position and then be a standout for the 20s.

personally I think he will grade out at just below Leinster standards for a backrow academy entrant

At this current time i can’t disagree but his progression in the past 6-10 months has been exponential so who knows how far he could develop. With Penny being the other backrow called into the academy this year he could have a chance.

Ronan Quinn with DUFC, Munster & Ireland U19.

Could be a surprise call up for Ireland 20s.

Anyone know where Tom Maher ex-Rock is playing? Assume DUFC or UCD.

    Same for Sean Molony?

Could the starting props be Milne and Clarkson? Quite possible.. biggest competition would be from Munster duo of Josh Wycherley and Luke Masters.

Unless Callum Reid re-emerges from obscurity in Ulster there aren't any notable prospects up North at prop.

Question - will Milne be playing 1 or 3 for the 20's? I think an all Roscrea front row is thing to be feared - Giant men.

Has been playing 1 all season, so unless the shift him back over, you'd have to assume he will be staying there. Milne is pretty small for a TH going forward.

    Options at Loose

    Michael Milne(Roscrea/UCD)
    Giuseppe Coyne(Blackrock/DUFC)
    Donnacha Mescal(Blackrock/DUFC)
    Niall McEniiff(St. Marys/St. Marys)
    Josh Wycherley(Roscrea/Young Munster)
    Callum Reid(RBAI/Ballynahinch)

    Options at Tight

    Michael Milne(Roscrea/UCD)
    Thomas Clarkson(Blackrock/DUFC)
    Ryan Lomas(Roscrea/Buccaneers)
    Paul McGookin(Ballyclare/Ballynahinch)
    Luke Masters(CBC/??)

Would have Milne at Tight as think he is the best of the bunch very important to have best tighthead possible which is not always possible but loosehead easier to fill and better options

I'd tend to agree, Milne starter with Clarkson on the bench.

I've only seem him play a couple of times but I'd have to agree. Not sure about his carrying, but his tackling and ruck work are really explosive.
