Ground or first floor? Easiest way is to screw them down but you'll see the screws unless you've carpet over that again. It's the nails that have come loose over the years.

For a first class job you could lift the boards, put down some acoustic insulation (or PIR and vapor control layer if ground floor) and then put glue on top of the joists like "D4 Glue" and then screw the boards down with something like this:
https://www.ie.screwfix.com/tongue-tite-screws-3-5-x-45mm-pack-of-200.html so you don't see the screw heads. That's probably way OTT for you but will give a rock solid floor.

Shake some bread soda or talcum powder between the boards - stops the squeaks but only a temporary fix if the noise is annoying.
