Checked it out today... all good

    https://www.donedeal.ie/view/19090156

Good points... low mileage well kept priced ok.
    Drives very well.

Bad points... clutch a little high but I can change that myself when the time comes and as I am mechanically sympathetic I reckon I’d get a good while out of it. DMF seems fine.
Tyres about 30%... rear disks a bit worn but not awful.
Couple of stone chips, a few light scratches on passenger side dash, and rear seats need a good wash.

My thinking is it will still be worth 5k in 3 years as I only doing 12k a year it will still be lower mileage then most. So if I get it for 6500 that’s a tenner a week.
    Marty.

If your paying €6500 now then how did you work out that you will get 5k for it in 3 years time?

That’s what clean 2010 ones are making...once the mileage is not off the charts.
Definitely 4500. With say 130km on it.
Anyway that’s really a side point!

That generation Megane and Renault in general are excellent reliable work horses.

I had a Megane coupe TomTom 1.5 dci as a 2nd car and I kept it longer than I intended because I was pleasantly surprised by it.

    That's a very good price.

You're future valuation method is flawed.

Apart from that they're reasonably good car but I'd check the mileage on that and follow up with any service history

Well no one knows what cars will be worth even a year from now especially diesels but in reality if it worked out for me I’d likely drive it into the ground.

Those 1.5 dci engines are great units assuming the oil has been changed on time and there is evidence of this. The Renault intervals are also very long which is not great. So make sure you have evidence of this, much more important than any cosmetic issues.

Bite on those clutches are pretty high to begin with if my Dad's Fluence is anything to go by so it might not be an issue at all

Cheers Gavman god to know..... at least I can change it myself if needs be. Picking it up this eve hopefully.
Tracked down the mileage history through 2 garages and it checks out fine. Albeit at 20k intervals.
So will need a belt soon as 5 years or 150, and oil and filter.

You’ll be the 4th owner in 5 years.

The 20k service interval is less than a lot of other manufacturers. It could have been demoed then bought so that could explain 2 owners but personally wouldn't worry about it

Absolutely and the lady I bought it off has had to stop driving and she only had it just over a year. Anyway it’s all good, pretty well specced, v little wrong with it for the price. :)

I’ll change the oil & filter the weekend, and do the belt before winter. Tyres have more life than I originally thought... Michelin’s too.
    Marty.
