PCN for Bus lane contravention from Northern Ireland on sourthern reg car .... Can they take legal action in ROI ? or shall one pay as its money making practise by their so called poor councils

please suggest... Earlier it was 45£ with 50% disc.. now they have sent again the notice to pay 90£.. if not paid, it will become 135£ and finally in case of failure to pay , the charge may be recovered by the Enforcement of Judgements Office as a civil debt or by your vehicle being clamped/removed .

Has any one in the past ignored such PCNs from Northern Ireland ? if yes, any consequences?

Shall we pay ? when the drivers from Northern Ireland have so much offenses in ROI 0 votes

    what do you feel

If only there was an easy way to avoid getting fined.

Who exactly has issued the fine? Is it the council or a business on behalf of the council who have issued a debt collection notice? If it's the former bin it.

You can ignore it if you never plan on visiting Northern Ireland again.

Otherwise, take your medicine and pay up.

Would it go to any records of ROI govt in case one go for naturalization of ROI i.e citizenship ? Can it become trouble as i have heard they ask you to fill a lot of details like any traffic offense etc too when you apply for naturalization

I'd expect that they'll put an ANPR flag on the registration number, next time the car is north of the border expect a stop n consequences of that stop.

I'd pay it to be honest. If it had been a fine sold to the likes of EPC who were now trying to collect I'd say bin it.
