Is there a JSA calculator resource available online anywhere or can anyone here advise?

My husband earns 620 per week and we have 3 children. I'm currently unemployed and my JSB ends next month...will I even be eligible for JSA? Where can I find thresholds?

    Any help appreciated..

Very doubtful on his salary. Here's some information on WFP which might be an option. You'll have Child Benefit on top of that income obviously but at least that won't be means tested.

Yeah, didn't think it was likely but we're really worried now with the drop in income coming..
We will definitely apply for WFP too, every little helps..

    Thanks for that..

Is that €620 gross less PRSI?
If it is then your JSA will be €90 per week.
    Alternatively,
Your WFP will be 60% of the difference between €723 and his net take home pay.

    No, it's 620 net pay.
How did you get that figure? I can't find info on working out means testing..
    Thanks

The means test is on his gross pay less PRSI.
So look at his pay slip and look at the gross pay and just deduct the amount of PRSI he pays and that is the figure they are looking at.

Here’s how you work it out.
If your hubby wasn’t working at all you would get:
    €198 yourself
    €131 himself
    €93.90 kids
    €422.90 total.
But he is working. And his gross pay less PRSI is say €665.
SW say deduct €20 per day up to 3 days a week
    So, €665-€60 =€605
    Then get 60% if that
    So €605*60% = €363.
So SW say that for your husbands wages of €665 the will consider €363 as “means”.
So they deduct that €363 from the amount you would get from JSA if he WASNT working (€422.90) to reach a figure of JSA for you.
    €422.90 -
    €363
    = €59.90 (€60).
    So JSA €60.

If you gave up JSA entirely your husband would get FIS (now WFP) of approx €60 and you wouldn’t have to be looking for available for etc. work.
