If you are single and only claiming for yourself then I think you will have €23 disability allowance per week.

    Income from work
You can do rehabilitative work (which includes self-employment) and earn up to €120 per week (after deduction of PRSI, any pension contributions and union dues) without your payment being affected. If you wish to do rehabilitative work, you need to provide the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection (DEASP) with a letter from your doctor certifying that the work is rehabilitative. You also need to give proof of your earnings (a pay slip, your contract of employment or a letter from your employer).

50% of your earnings between €120 and €350 will not be taken into account in the Disability Allowance means test. Any earnings over €350 are fully assessed in the means test.

    cheers mate
i also have a medical card , does this affect my PRSI or USC

Medical card holders pay a reduced rate of USC.
I think the rate is 2 per cent when income for the year is €60,000 or less.

As far as I know the medical card does not reduce your PRSI.

If you take up full time employment, you may be allowed to keep your medical card for 3 years. I think you will then lose it.

You should phone your local Citizens Information Centre and enquire just to make sure.
