Our floors upstairs are squeaky and have poor or no sound insulation.
Is it right to say that to sound proof we will have to take out all floor and floor board then fill spaces between props with sound proof insulation and then fit osb boards then floor back . .
I am not sure on the kind of sound proofing solution - can we put rockwool sound proofing or are there other materials we can use, can someone please suggest??

First question.. What's the noise issue.. Is it squeaky floor boards? , vibrations and foot steps ? or voices and TV or music..?

We were recommended to use hush strips but they were dropped due to budget. Between joists is insulated. We don't hear sound travelling but do hear footsteps.

I would say squeaky floor boards rather than floor.our carpenter said nailing some of the floor boards may be a temporary option but he said that the problem may reoccur in old floors
Then the noise in general is more footsteps and the occasional loudimpact noise which travels everywhere.
