Temporary Contract ending...

    Hi everyone,

I'm currently on a temporary contract due to expire next month.

I'm not sure I want to renew even if offered a new contract.

So, my question is what happens if I'm offered a new full time contract and I decline it. Can I sign on and search for a different job? Or would I have to wait 9 weeks? I'm just looking for a new challenge and in a different location as rent is very expensive where I am.

Any help/advice would be much appreciated!

    Thanks!

You would have to wait the 9 weeks as being unemployed is your choice.

Why don't you just accept the full time contract if you are offered it and still search for a different job.

As above, sign the extension to keep working and then search for a new job.
It's easier to get a job when you have one, you're also negotiating from a position of strength when discussing pay for your new job.
