Just wondering, hypothetical question; Say if you were 'laid off' or put on 'short time' for a quiet period in a workplace by your employer, how does it all work with 'signing on' during the time you have been 'laid off' from work by your employer? Do you just resume work as normal after that period off 'short/time'/ 'lay…

Do you just resume work as normal after that period off 'short/time'/ 'lay -off' is over, and just no longer sign on anymore?

I've heard this is common with some childcare jobs during the summer.

You sign on and then the day before you return to work you sign off. You can sign off online.
