    Hi ,has anyone come across hollow sections in floor insulation I'm talking about where insulation has a hole going from one foil to the other thanks

    Yes. If you buy 'seconds' which are insulation that don't pass the quality control at the factory they sell these insulation boards at a reduced price. Seconds can have damaged corners or edges, not have a uniform thickness (eg 45mm one end and 55mm the other rather than all 50mm) or it can have voids. I purchased seconds for non important areas or where it wasn't the primary layer of insulation and was great. Filled any voids or damaged corners with foam although I think in 25 sheets only one had a small void. It was a good saving for near perfect insulation. I do believe you can get bad seconds and good seconds. I think I got good seconds.

    Where did you buy the insulation? Any chance they are seconds?

    I bought them from a chap in Monaghan,no mention of seconds but he was a good bit cheaper than anyone elce I priced so I took d chance ,I'm not worried about voids as I can get expanding foam an fill them as you said only a few sheets have them

    They sound like seconds to me. Fill the voids with foam and use the savings on other items I'm sure you need the money for.
