Price is tasty on it IMO, as a Honda fanboi I wouldn't give it, I'd be looking towards Japan for an EF8 SiR rather than the ED9 above, but would still be expecting 8/10k euro on the road here for a clean one

The cars they have are very expensive. As nice as that car is it only has the standard 1.6 engine.

I was bidding on a clean, but average mileage EF7 (I'm slightly odd in that I really don't like the facelifted cars, so had to be pre-facelift for me).

Eventual auction price was 12M yen - so add on shipping, insurance, duty and VRT and you're looking at close to a €15k car.

From watching the auction websites it would be about 12k to land a fairly good ef8 here, prices are gone crazy in Japan.
Definitely a high price for 16v in the ad but it does look clean.

edit; there is an ef8 for sale on donedeal for 10,500 if I remember right.
Was up for a couple of days before that for 11,500.

This thread is killing me, I drove one of them to death when I was 17, then had a twin cam corolla that I drove to death....

If only I had hindsight lol

yea but if everyone minded them, they'd be everywhere and worth next to nothing

and you had the very best of it ( 17+crx )

this will matter when you are in a nursing home - happy memories of torturing a twincam and a crx @ 18-ish vs. buying one as a mid life crisis

you could buy the car in the OP, but you can't buy your youth back

    & it's later than you think :)

Again if anyone is looking for a Crx there is one being posted on Honda Parts ireland on Facebook that the owner says is just in from Japan.
He's looking for 8k which seems reasonable.

What's the deal with Hollybrook cars? Is it that they specialise in low mileage, generally rare or limited edition stuff? Do they restore these cars?

They seem to at least give them a thorough clean and polish.
