Employment Contract not issued

    Hi folks,

    Something got me thinking...
I agreed to a completely new job within the same company that's employed me for a number of years.
I've have chased my HR dept and they confirmed that said contract would be with me the next day. Two weeks later & still no sign of it.

I understand that a company is legally obliged to issue a contract within 2 months of start date of employment.

My question is - what happens is they don't issue this contract? Are there any repercussions for them? Should I be even chasing them?

    Thanks
    Dutchy

Realistically nothing will happen, unless you want to destroy your relationship with them.

Just keep at them for the contract.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, it's quite unlikely they are up to no good.

Why would you need a new contract? A letter appointing you to the role and noting any changes to you original contract should suffice. If there are no changes going with the new job (salary etc.) then they might not be in the habit of issuing letters for every job change.
