Well you probably already expect and are not surprised.

Mercedes Benz/Daimler has been ordered to recall 700k+ cars due to emissions defeat software so on....

With all the issues VW/VAG cars had after the so called software fix (DPF/ERG) I doubt Merc owners will be queuing up.

BMW its only a matter of time...

    Bmw..
I'm out of warranty, and have the performance pack installed.

No way will I be getting any further sw updates.

Regular oil changes, and high cetane diesel along with a can of bg244 every oil change

    Until drive-by testing comes in

    Outsourcing, vans ............. sounds familiar

Colorado’s RapidScreen emissions project has scanned hundreds of thousands of metro-area tailpipes at some of the busiest off ramps and roadways since 2003. The goal of the program, which was outsourced to Envirotest Systems Corporation, is to increase the efficiency of emissions testing by rewarding cars – and their owners -- that pass the involuntary test twice within a ten-month span.

RapidScreen vans use infrared and ultraviolet beams to match each passing vehicle’s level of hazardous fumes to a photo of its license plate. Clean drivers are then notified by mail of the results and can avoid a trip to a testing facility as long as they register their car normally.

This country doesn't have testing for bikes .
And Agri vehicles are only now being considered for testing.
My car will have witnessed many historical events to come before this country gets roadside testing of emissions.. and it'll hard to test them when I'm vacationing on Mars.

Bike nct style testing is coming in for 2022.

I'm pretty sure that it will be deferred.
The eu says that it the implementation of testing for bikes can be pushed out beyond 2022.
Also, the testing regime, does not specify emissions.

They might just check that the lights work and the tyres have 1mm
