Tiling on a smooth concrete floor

Folks, I intend to tile a downstairs concrete floor in my new build. The floor had been power floated originally and so the surface is relatively smooth/polished.

It is wise to tile directly onto such a floor finish? My tiler is a little wary. Someone mentioned I may need to use a scabbler to roughen up the surface a bit. Do I need to do this?

    Thanks

Use a primer before adhesive is applied. Any decent tiler should know that. Your tile supplier should be able to specify the correct primer/adhesive combination to suit your tiles.
