    I have a blown head gasket on my son's C4 1.6 hdi

I have alll the stuff off the head,

thermostat removed, turbo off, egr removed, egr cooler stays down back of engine, vacuum pump removed, camshaft carrier device removed, cylinder head bolts removed.

What I cant figure out is how to remove the head while the high pressure pump stays in place.

There is one stud from the head that goes through the pump bracket - this faces towards the drivers seat - I have removed the nut but not the stud as yet.

Is there any trick to removing the head that I am missing?

Is there a particular place to pry?

    Any help much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Richard
