Cairn Hill saorview, lost RTE1, RTE+1, wondering if it's the trees?

Hi folks. I've been checking here about transmitter issues etc. so that doesn't seem to be the cause of me recently loosing these two saorview stations (last few weeks). I have all the rest working including all the radio channels. My setup is a yellow aerial (Group B) and a Ferguson Ariva 120 which is otherwise working trouble free for a few years. I tried a scan and it didn't find those stations and when I change to the tuned channel it flickers a signal strength mostly around zero. So I am wondering if it is plausible that tree growth in line with the antenna could account for just those two stations to be lost? Otherwise I'm mystified as the cabling etc. seem undamaged.

It could be the trees, yes. I used to have problems with them myself: if you can't get rid of the trees, you could try different locations for the aerial, even if it's still looking through the trees.

In my own case, lowering the aerial about 4 feet got me a usable signal for all channels, though you mightn't find a 'sweet spot' so easily, & of course later changes to the trees will change the nature of the signal path, & you might need to move the aerial again.

Thanks Thurston, I got back today and service has been restored so no need for me to adjust the aeriel - I'm guessing it's down to reduced power which I afterwards found on Aertel (subpage now removed under https://www.rte.ie/aertel//desktopxhtml/169-1.html). Also it seems that RTE1 and RTE1+1 are on a different mux from the rest of the stations, hence their loss without the others. I'm presuming that the tall trees are probably the issue but on full power they are overcome. Anyway that's a result (for now).
