I've been looking for a good value 8Tb back-up drive for a while. The above looks like a good price, 35% off allegedly, CCC says it's the lowest price it's ever been. There is a Seagate 8Tb for GBP£169.99 without discount (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Seagate-Desktop-External-Creative-Photography/dp/B01IAD5ZC6/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1528716967&sr=1-2&keywords=8tb+external+hard+drive+usb+3.0. Would the WD be better than the Seagate?

good price, I select WD anyday over Seagate. Nothing wrong with Seagate but I've had/have heaps of WD and never let me down. If only it had a RJ45 connection I'd have jumped at it !

Good buy. They have WD Reds inside (or white label equivalents) Anyone know if they are shuckable? I paid £220 for an 8TB Red a few months ago.
