Looking for any advice really. I've failed test 4 times now & suffer with anxiety. (I'm on meds)
I've got into a habit of coasting a lot now & find it hard to stop also my hands tend to shake

Have you gotten many professional lessons?

You need to work through these issues with your instructor. Well the coasting issue mainly. Can you give us some details as to what areas you have failed under? Or probably more importantly what areas you were marked against on the last test?

    Definitely the examiners. Yep, definitely.

I'd appreciate it if you could keep things civil in this forum. There's no need for expletives here.

As for your marks for coasting, if you think you're fine there I might recommend keeping your foot well away from the clutch pedal when not in use. People get marks against them for leaving their foot slightly pressed on the clutch while driving.

You may not like the process, but you have to play by their rules to pass. So it's best to work through your last fail sheet and focus on all failing aspects and make sure you are crystal clear on each.

OP you can ask for a testing supervisor to conduct your test due to your anxiety. It’s a less formal style test and may help you relax more. I’d a pupil in the same boat as you. I suggested the above and she passed.

    Best of luck

I'd take a complete break from driving for a little while, and then switch to a new instructor from a different driving school.

Not that I'm saying that there's anything wrong with your current instructor; it's just that I get the impression that you've got into a loop in which you expect yourself to fail. and you need to find a way to break out of that pattern and do a bit of a reset.

Think my anxiety completely took over last time & i ended up doing everything wrong but def coasting is something i need to cut out! Reversing is something i'm practicing at the moment
