Try and get in as much practice as you can before the test, confidence is key. The more confident you are, the less likely you are to make mistakes that you otherwise may not usually make (in my experience anyway)

    i) Do a pre-test directly before the test
ii) Practice, practice, practice with an instructor
iii) Ignore any mistakes you make and continue on. Great story here recently about someone who recovered from a fault and passed.
iv) Be seen to be seen, slightly exaggerate your movements for mirror etc. checks so the tester sees you doing them
    v) Worry not about failing, you've failed three times already, did the world end? Just book another test if you fail and get straight back on the horse.

    Congratulations!
That's a great buzz - you worked hard for it so enjoy it.

You now have a skill and qualification and freedom that will last you for life.
Passing the test might seem like it was hard and expensive work but it is a far better 'investment' than buying a 'nice' car before you pass the test.

    Well done :D

Quick question , my wife has her test this weekend , she is stressing more about the theory element than the practical which I think is ridiculous , it's 10 years since I passed , I was asked a few road signs, hand signals and then to point out a few buttons in the car and where the water and oil go , is this not still the case or is there now theory test style questions?

    Thanks in advance

It will only be like few signs and few rules like can u stop on yellow box or about junction with no light but theory part is the easiest part of the test

For mine the road signs/rules of the road etc were all before we even left the office, then there was the water and oil questions before we started the test, and then the hand signals were somewhere in the middle of the test. I understand where your wife is coming from though, I was more nervous about that part than the actual driving test.

    Best of luck to her!
