    Hi folks,
Our pet dog was accidentally rolled over by my wife yesterday morning while bringing the kids to school.Without a doubt the sadest day in our young family's history.Everyone is absolutely gutted. Its such a raw,gut wrenching feeling even on a par with deaths of family relatives. Its going to take a while to get over this but i know time will heal.Im just wondering about peoples opinions on wether they would buy a dog again after this?Maybe you had a similar experience? If so how long did you wait before buying another dog.?
As I said things are very raw at the moment and i know the kids dont even want to think about another dog but i think time will change that.It was our first family pet and we got really attatched to him, thanks in advance.

So sorry for your loss. It’s one thing to have a pet reach the end of their life naturally but it must be awful to go through that experience.
Exactly the same happened to friends of ours. The dog was loved and mourned but they got another rescue dog quite soon afterwards and it worked out fine.
I suspect you will get another dog but you’ll know in your heart when it’s the right time.

    Hi OP,

What a sad time for you and your family. I can only imagine the pain you are going through. We lost our two best buddies within six months of one and other. One had kidney failure then the other a stroke. We had rescued them together as puppies. Although not as dramatic as your loss, boy did it hurt. I can still feel the pain in my heart that i thought i would feel for ever.
We loved both so much but we did get another rescue soon enough after our two died. It was never to replace or forget them but more so to rescue another poor thing. It was sad but our new guy helped when it hurt. I cried into his furry coat so often while he looked at me with such a grateful expression in his eyes. He helped us talk about our two guys, exercise again and laugh at his desperate attemps to show us we had room in our hearts for another buddy. Take care ðŸ™
