    Hi Guys..
So I bought a Mitsubishi Asx from an Indy garage that was a UK cat d that has been repaired. Before buying I brought the car to a local Mitsubishi dealer he said car was fine. Transpires the half shaft is bent and neither garage are taking responsibility.
    Any ideas???

Was the Cat D disclosed before you bought it or did you find out after the sale was complete?

Did you find out the nature of the Cat D? From that could the bent shaft be associated?

Those pre sale checks are usually just a basic visual health check and a scan for fault codes which probably wouldn't have picked up on that issue. "Bent" makes you think of something heavily bent, a heavily bent drive shaft would be easy to spot visually and would make the car virtually undriveable. I assume you are getting a vibration from the car? Usually you wouldn't spot a bent shaft with the naked eye unless it is ruined.

The dealer who inspected won't be interested and to be fair why would they. It's really between you and the seller and before it even gets that far you need to see could the shaft be related to the Cat D repairs.

It's between you and the garage you bought it from imo.
