Second hand eir TV equipment supplied by engineer

    Recently signed up to eir TV and noticed that the eir vision+ box and the remote control are quite visibly SECOND HAND...not hygenic and not expected!  Could not use the service for the frist few days due to a fault on the line.

    Mentioned in the eir shop where we signed up about the second hand items and they were shocked but said had to 'phone up to request a replacement...40 minutes on the 'phone today to 4 different agents and still no further on.  Is this normal practice or designed to encourage cancellation of contract within the first 14 days?

    Engineer also sliced through the ethernet cable upon opening the packaging of multiroom boxes....also need a replacement.  Still awaiting fault on the line to be fixed also...all we got instead was slower fibre speed than we had before!  All round, not a great eir experience.
