3rd driving test - Roscommon

    Hi Everyone,
    In fairness, this is a bit embarassing for me to write this up but I would like to get your opinion.
    I tried my driving test in Finglas earlier this year for the first time and failed with a few marks. The tester was really fair I think and looking back now I reckon that I wasn't ready yet. I took loads of lessons and pre tests after this and things improved. Did about 5 pre tests and was doing great in all of them. Had my 2nd test attempt in May and failled with 13 marks, in the blue zone. In fairness I don't think it's acceptable from me to put the guilty in someone else's as I probably didn't do it well enough to deserve to pass it but the tester on the day didn't please me much either, just because I was a bit nervous (normal I presume) and little attitudes made things go worse for example when driving through the speed lumps (where I would obviously slow down the speed) she would grab the car's door and seat as if we were on a roller coaster. I found this a bit rude and obviously give me more anxiety as if I was doing something really wrong when I indeed wasn't. I genuinly think I did well in this test but I am not a tester and if she failed me, I will take her decision as right obviously (This was in Finglas too).

    This time I went on the cancelation list as my driving instructor had suggested me to re-sit the test the quickest possible. I got a date for Roscommon later in the month. I must admit, I looked this time at the passing rates around the country and spotted that Roscommon is on its 70% pass rate, meanwhile Finglas displays 48%. Obviously this may not mean anything really. But I wonder, Do you think this could play in my favour or against me, for doing the test in Roscommon? I don't know the roads in Roscommon although I will go for a drive around a few hours before my test (as I live in Dublin).
    And for last (apologies for such a long post) would anyone have any idea about the test routes in Roscommon?

    I'm curious to know why test centers like Roscommon and Athlone have such a high pass rate. Is it because there is not much traffic in the roads/streets and therefore not a lot of potential hazards?

    Get a lesson with a local instructor ,they will know the routes and can show you the few places they bring you for reverse turn,hill start etc.

    It's a small town and there is only really 2 or 3 spots that they use for those manoeuvers
    Well worth the 30 quid.I'd get one lesson to get an idea of the area and then spend a hour or so afterwards going over it and a while the day of the test.
