I applied for carers allowance end of April, I know it takes a very long time to get processed. Do I still get the respite grant paid into my account when I receive my carers as I applied before June

If your application is successful then yes you will be paid the RCG

Just got a text saying my application has been received and I will get a decision in writing in due course.

Presume everyone gets one of these messages?

Yeah if you gave them a mobile number then they’ll acknowledge your application by text. I’m not exaggerating but unless it’s a cut and dried case I’ll eat my hat if you hear anything before Halloween .

I applied around 20 May and sent it by registered post. It was received the next day and I got a receipt from them the day after from the Gandon House, Amiens Street DSP office (which is no longer operating an Intreo Public Office).. I know the grant was paid out on 1 June, with a delay for those who were getting paid into their banks. I have not heard if I was successful.

Did you apply for Carers Allowance or Respite Care Grant?

Is it true that you can get the respite grant even though you’re not getting the carers allowance (due to being over the income limit)
