Bridesmaid dress shopping

A long-time lurker first time poster here.... I've picked up so much helpful info here over the last few months, so I'm hoping that you'll be able to help me with my dilemma about my bridesmaids dresses.

My 2 bridesmaids and I have finally manged to arrange a weekend to get together at the end of June to do some bridesmaid dress shopping in Dublin. As we're living in different places we don't manage to get together all that often, so we really need this outing to be as productive and informative as possible.

So I need your help: would you be able to recommend places that we should visit? And I'm assuming we'll have to make appointments with most places, unless they're big stores?

If it's any help, it's for a winter wedding with black tie in the evening, so we're looking at long dresses with some nice and understated detail, something along the lines of the links below, but open to suggestions and any advice would be really greatly

There's no need to go to a bridal shop for dresses (unless thats what you want) they aren't the actual wedding dress after all. My OH just went to pamela scott/debenhams and that and got it sorted in an afternoon.

We just went to Debenhams for bridesmaids dresses for my sisters wedding. Got exactly what we were looking for. Other suggestions I could think of would be Coast, Monsoon, Arnotts, Brown Thomas, House of Fraser and Oasis. Even though they might not have the sizes for all in stock, they will usually have them online if you really like the style.

I think unless you have a specific colour/design that isn't in the shops at the moment, you're better avoiding bridal shops for bridesmaids dresses as they are often a lot more expensive for not better quality.

Honestly OP I'd leave it until after debs season, as that's when you'll see the more black-tie stuff that would be suitable for winter coming in. And really don't go to bridal shops, debenhams do have a great selection of gowns, usually. You'll pay through the absolute nose in bridal shops.
