I was told over the phone that the offer had been extended to October.

If this is not the case then I will be going with my alternative offer.

Same as myself, EBS are waiting to take my business.

    Ulster Bank in mine.

And if BOI don’t issue the paperwork this week I’ll be going with UB regardless.

I was approved 2 weeks ago and still waiting for my contracts.

Is it no problem to get full approval with another bank if i already have full approval with BOI? Im in the same boat, wont be drawing down with BOI unless the offer is extended but havent applied with anyone else yet

    Per website;

We will give you 2% of your new mortgage back as cash if you top up an existing mortgage or buy an investment property, or if you are not a Bank of Ireland current account customer and you buy your first home, move home or switch your mortgage to us.

Is the 2% cashback available to existing current account customers?

You get cashback plus instead which is better

When do you actually get the cashback, immediately after drawing down the mortgage?

Also, I saw the cashback plus offer, so switched my current account to BOI, I will be drawing down the mortgage next month, will I get the cashback plus because I have a current account at the time of draw down?, and will that happen automatically in 5 years or is it something I'll have to apply for then?

    Hi Silane,

    Thanks for the message.

You would receive the cash back within 6 weeks of the mortgage drawdown and yes the bonus payment in five years should be automatically paid into your account at that time.

    Thanks again,
    Darren.

    Hi

Is it likely that the cashback offer will be extended beyond 31 December?

I too would like to know.

I have an offer with BOI but drawdown will not be until next spring. If the cashback deal is not gonna be extended I will be looking at alternative options.

I'm in a similar position. Drawdown may or may not happen before the new year. If it doesn't happen before the new year and the cashback offer is no longer available I will be looking elsewhere

    Hi Everyone,

Thanks for all of your messages.
We don't have any update on whether or not this will be extended beyond this point.
As soon as we do have an up date on this we'll be sure to let everyone on this thread know.
    Thanks again,
    Darren.

I'm the same, have full offer pack sent out to me but have not set draw down date as a few bumps now and in the unfortunate chance that it is dragged into new year and 2% is gone I'd be looking elsewhere.

I was talking to my Boi mortgage advisor at 4:30 pm the day this was posted and they said Boi hasn't taken decision to extend this yet but will call to inform me when they do. It's also not reflected on the Boi website, when is the site likely to be updated to show this?

    Hi,

Can you tell us if you'll be extending the offer past June? Buying a new build and August is expected completion date.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 423 ✭✭Bank of Ireland: Lorna

    Hi Flowergirl4,

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

If the offer is being extended further it will be announced closer to the time.

If we can help with anything else, just give us a shout!

    Thanks,

    Lorna

The 1% after 5 years for current account holders - is this affected by lump sum repayments (which don't repay the whole amount by the five year mark)? ...What if you repay it in full one month after five years?

edit: Yes the offer only applies if you have 75% or more of borrowings still owed at the five yeqr mark.

It has been over a year since there was a post on this thread. The cashback plus has since been extended till December 31st 2019. Is there any sign of it being extended again past this date?
