Hi Lads, looking at moving in here. I'm not familiar with Dublin at all and so would like to know if it's a good place to live?

    Thanks for your help.

It's awful. Avoid at all costs.

Is it the actual estate itself or the estates that surround it that make it undesirable? Or perhaps a bit of both?

Have you driven around the area?

I know when the snow came, anyone driving up the road that way, the locals opened car doors and threw snow balls at the people in the car.

Personally its not an area I would look at.

No I've never been in the area at all and I'm not great with areas in Dublin to be honest. Sounds awful.

If there's any places that are good in Dublin inner city or outside of it let me know. I'll keep researching so.

The estate itself is awful - worse than anything else in the vicinity imo. Google it. You will find lots of reports of the horrific problems with damp and mould in the buildings, and also many many reports of residents arrested for serious crimes and also serious crimes occuring there. I lived near it for years, have friends and family living there and pass through it most days. I would consider it the joint worst estate in Lucan and Clondalkin combined.

The National School nearby means traffic gridlock because parents do U turns in the road instead of using the roundabout.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

On any given day, just spend an hour of your time driving or walking around the area in late afternoon, early evening and you'll know exactly what people mean.

Out of curiosity, were you looking at renting an apartment or a house and what was the monthly rent? I would have thought most of it was social housing, but I could very well be wrong.

Inner City i wouldn't know much about, but if you find something in Lucan you like, just post it here and people will let you know about it. There are good people here.

Dreadful scary place. Always keep my car doors locked driving around here. Even in the middle of the day. Knew someone allocated a a house here and they ended up going back to live with her mother as they felt unsafe.

I'll second all the above. Wouldn't touch it with a barge pole, there is some great places in the surrounding area but that place is to be avoided at all costs IMO

Is this not where all the headbangers were dumped when they flattened the St Michaels Estate in Inchicore?

Possibly, I don't know. Anyone I know who got a place there was from Neilstown/Ronanstown/Rowlagh.
