Hi everyone I’m new here , I am looking for a wedding venue in and around Dublin . My partner is from Limerick (and we live there ) but I am from Derry so we want somewhere that is in between and convient for everyone as we both have big family’s . I have looked at most of the Private country estates and Wedding villages but I am at a loss when trying to find hotels to look at, our numbers would be 180-200. Any help is greatly appreciated.

We got married in Thomas Prior Hall in Ballsbridge 12 weeks ago and had a lovely day. It’s a big room so think they’d accomadate your numbers. Or what about the Westin? That’s another lovely venue, are you looking for hotels specifically?

The Intercontinental in Ballsbridge were doing good deals when I looked at them and they could take your numbers.

A lot of the city centre venues only take 80-100.

Thomas Prior only does up to 160.

I think Clontarf Castle could hold your numbers.

    Fitzpatricks too out in Killiney.

Some lovely venues in Meath and Wicklow if intersted? The Milhouse and Tankardstown in Slane were both on my list but booked. Ended up seeing our band in Tankardstown and it is a super venue.

Rathsallagh in Wicklow is lovely. My friend had a super day here.

We tried the Westin and they had two menu's. One started at €109 pp so v expensive.

    Try Weddings online for ideas.

Beaufiield Mews is lovely as is Haddington House in Dun Laoghaire but I think they could be max 130.

Just had a look in my inbox and found the Clontarf Castle 2017 prices:

Enchanted package €79 PP (no arrival reception or meal choice)
Charmed package €89 PP (no canapes on arrival (just prosecco) - no main choice)
Fairytale package €99 (no arrival canapes (just prosecco) - choice of pork or fish for main)
Majestic package €109 (steak or fish for main)

Think they can only take 120 though...

Thanks for the suggestions I will check them out, no I ideally would like somewhere a bit different along the lines of The Anglers rest but finding it very difficult to find somewhere like that to accommodate our numbers.

We wanted something different too and found it hard enough trying to cater for 100. So not sure you’ll find something different with your numbers.

The only places I can think of are round room at the mansion house. Stunning venue and you bring in caterers but you’d spend a fortune in draping. Also the Royal Hospital in Kilmainham could definitely take your numbers and is a beautiful setting. Again, food is by caterers.

Fallon & Byrne do 120 if you could trim your numbers a bit?!
Likewise Smock Alley can take 150.

Kings Inn might then be a possibility.

Royal Marine in Dun Laoghaire will cater to your numbers.

Ours was there three years ago and can't recommend it enough.
Great accommodation for your guests, wrong side of the city granted but very handy to get to even so.

Don't know that it counts as different but it has a certain olde world charm and the location beside the sea is lovely.

Have you ever been to a wedding at the intercontinental dublin? Just wondering if the food is a good standard!?

    Whats your budget OP?

Again, its not a quirky venue (you might struggle at your numbers to get something wtih the Anglers rest type feel) but The Radisson in Stillorgan could probably do those numbers or the Castleknock Hotel. I'd also suggest looking at the Intercontinental as mentioned by another poster.

Went to a wedding in the RadissonStillorgan recently.. function room is a really wierd layout and service was really poor!! They were serving desert and they hadn’t even lifted the dinner plates!!!

Barberstown in Straffan would probably take that number
