GDPR: Bunch of "Data Removal Requests"

In the last few days, I've seen approx. 10 emails to my work account, with the subject "Data Removal Request".

Each email has the very same body text, like a template, only for a different email address (mix of hotmail, gmail and other "free" providers")

"I hereby withdraw my consent .... pursuant to my rights under Article 17 GDPR." and ends with a jaunty "Thank you!"

What's odd is that some of the requests are for people who are not, and never have been, customers or users of our online services.

I've looked at the email headers, they seem to come from a Mimecast.com server in the US (even for gmail.fr customers) ... but that may be misdirection, or maybe the "source" is a Mimecast customer.

    Anyone else?
