    Has anyone else has extremely bad issues in relation to aggression, unjust threads and intimidation from dog wardens. I dont mean if you were in the wrong - I mean if you were just out walking your licensed dog and met them? I seriously think there are serious dog hate isssues at play.

    OP, I'm not very clear on what exactly you are accusing dog wardens of but I have removed the name of the pound as it's defamatory

    Not at all i’ve always found them very polite and courteous. The only people i’ve found to have issues with them locally(Dublin) are the ‘i pay your wages’ brigade.

    Dog wardens are local authority employees. If you have issues with their standards of behaviour Council management is who you go to.

    They are subcontracters and not LA employees and so not under their complaints policy. When the offending person owns the company or has a veated intereat in there not being complaints it vecomes a kafkaesque mess. But heyho - cant have a conversation when noone is allowed know who we are talking about to make a valid input.

    we tried heard for our LA to keep a directly employed dog warden but we failed. I've had one dealing with the contractor since the local warden retired...and I won't be sending any more their way if I can help it

    I live in Dublin and have met wardens from alot of pounds it just depends on what pound your dog ends up depending on the county you live in, there are some really good wardens out there and I know of one who brings dogs home with him on long weekends if its the last one in the pound so it wont be alone. My experience with the Dublin pound is mixed to be honest but wont go into that. The pound in Ireland are run by the county council and also some by the ISPCA so you get a varied type of person depending on the county.
