New connection to old house

Hi, I'm just gone sale agreed on an old house that shared a well with the house next door. I need to get my own water source so was hoping to connect to the mains water which I am told by locals is approx 300m down the road. Sinking a well isn't possible as it would be too close to my septic tank or my neighbours no matter where on the site it would be located.
How much approx would a new connection like this cost?

    Hi,

Details of any charges will be set out in your connection offer, as costs are determined on a case by case basis.

The Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) is the economic regulator of Irish Water and it has approved the charging structure that Irish Water will use. This is set out in the Irish Water Charges Plan and is equivalent to what your Local Authority would have charged on 31 December 2013.

You can fill out a connection application and find more out about the process here.

    Thanks,
    Mairead
