Telephone allowance.

    I had a letter today that I am to get the new telephone allowance from next month; was confused re the date until I googled and it is just coming in then.

    Am eligible as i get Living Alone Allowance and Solid Fuel Allowance.

    E2.50 a week and very welcome

    The letter says it is automatic? ie I didn't ask. Anyone who is on those allowances will get it.

    That’s it Grace. There’s no application form . If you’ve those 2 add ons you’ll get it automatically . Every little bit helps.

    Has it come in your payment yet? I've a friend who got the letter last month too but no sign of the actual payment.

    Should have had it by now. Your friend needs to ring the section that pays his or her core payment.

    Oh yes. The date it would start was on the letter. Although maybe your friend expects it separate when it is simply added on to existing payments? Ask her to check that? Mine went up by the 2.50
