Edward Snowden's website is using TLS 1.3

    The first website I have noticed to use TLS 1.3 is one of Edward Snowden's -

    (It is somewhat surprising that this site uses a certificate authority based in two countries that are at war with the rest of the planet - rather than one based in a neutral country such as Swiss based https://www.quovadisglobal.ch/?sc_lang=en-GB)

    SwissID does S/MIME certificates for individuals thoroughly. You have to go to a post office with your ID card or passport so they can verify you face to face. Obviously Mr Snowden does not have this option, being 'locked in Russia'. And he probably wouldn't want his PLZ (or his Canton of residence even) showing in a certificate.
