Hey, I realise that there are already some threads about this issue but I figured it would be worth making a new one as the previous ones are from a few years ago before Seetec/Turas Nua existed.

Essentially, I have been unemployed for over a year, and am on the seetec programme. I was offered a job with a public sector body two days ago, and will receive an official job offer the week after next. However, the position does not start until the end of August. I was just wondering, is it any way possible to claim benefits until my actual start date? It's just that I'd imagine it's a common enough scenario and that the DSP have some way of handling it.

Yes of course you will be entitled . The position doesn’t begin until August and until then you continue to be looking for available for and fit for full time work.
