Moderating is on a voluntary basis and in my 9 years of Boards.ie use I don't think I've ever seen a thread as fast moving or as divisive as the 8th Amendment Referendum threads. You had your work cut out for you and I'm sure it wasn't easy, especially when the report buttons were getting smashed into oblivion.

I'm not sure if this contravenes the "No threads" policy but I thought it would be nice to take the time to say thanks and allow others to say thanks for your time, hard work and patience.

Put your feet up, have a cuppa and some biscuits. You've earned that much at least.

They should be paid really. I wouldn't feel right spending my time like that for a for-profit entity

I did a small bit of moderating forums as part of my job a few years back and it's a load of sh1t really. No controversial stuff or hot-headedness in the forums I modded but still a constant flow of sh1te that had to be removed

Absolutely. Couldn't have said it better. Well done lads. Sterling work and I mean that. Second only to the night Henry handled the ball for thread speed. 17.2Mph I clocked it moving at one point. People posting night noon and morning about what they 8th must get bloody tiresome at times too but not a peep of complaint from ye. Like a fricking sweatshop it must be back there. Yiz are legends!

Absolutely. When I hear people complaining about mods, I think “Do they not realise that nobody would do the job if they were getting constantly reprimanded by paid higher- ups”. People need to be realistic. Nobody would take regular bollockings for no money.

Well done Mods. I cant imagine how much a pain in the hole the last few months were.
