A few years since worked worked, as in not jobridge, tus, etc

Had a trial before and hopefully in proper job now and noticed/wondered

Are hour lunches gone? Working 8 to 5 and get 15 tea then 30 lunch

Are days of book two days off here, one day there gone? Told have you block book within certain timeframe but OK for odd wedding

Just curious before I go looking for a different position with stuff that doesn't happen anymore

Lunches and breaks are not part of the working week, so 8-5 with 45 min breaks = 8hour 15min day.

It's between a office and showroom in sales

Just curious as annoying issues, but if they norm then I may get use to them

Sounds more like your employer is on the stingy side and is only giving you the bare minimum. As far as I know, 30 minutes is the minimum allowed for a lunch break and they're not obliged to give you an afternoon break. The leave thing varies from employer to employer. I've a friend who worked in a place where they made everyone book their entire annual leave for the year in January. I don't think you're in much of a position to argue with your current conditions, seeing as you're only returning to the workforce proper now. They know it too...

I will never understand that sort of employer.

In our office, we let our staff work from home whenever they want. We let them come in and go home whenever they want. We let them take unlimited holidays. We pay them fairly.

But the rule is your work must get done, and it must be of a high standard.

As a result, no one quits, and everyone tries to do their best.

Treat people kindly and they will be kind to you.

    .

fair enough but not for all industries

Harder to be a showroom rep or assembly line worker from home!

    I agree with you.

I guess my point was it doesn't make sense to treat your staff badly or too strictly, as it just makes them resent their jobs. It's better to have happier staff as they will be more loyal, work harder, and customers will benefit too.
