Good to see Australia getting tough on the sick scum who helped paedos evade the law.

Makes one wonder why this hasn’t happened here.

Why were members of the RC Church not prosecuted for covering up child abuse?

    Are they above the law?

Where was the clamouring from FG/FF about being tough on crime?

Or are the politicians and members of FG/FF uncomfortable with how close their parties were to the RCC?

Either way, time for AGS to start hauling in these toerags and showing that the law is applied to everyone equally.

Don't think we had mandatory reporting at the time.
Difficult to prove in any case I'd imagine

From what I've read about this case, you could hardly argue that the authorities have gone after the hierarchy at the time the offences were committed. The man now convicted was then a 25 year old 'assistant priest'.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
