Anxious dog left in its own?

New neighbours moved in 6 weeks ago, semi-detached house in housing estate, they have a dog, a collie, she's lovely but has serious anxiety issues.

They got her the day they moved in from a rescue centre, she had come from a very bad situation, she barks a lot.

3 weeks after moving in they went on holiday for 2 weeks and left the poor dog in the garden/ house with someone coming to feed her once a day.

24 hours after they left she had a litter of 8 puppies, 2 died. They didn't know she was pregnant when they got her.

Now they've gone away again since early yesterday morning (Monday), it's Tuesday afternoon now, they left the back door open for her to go in and out I presume. I can see into their garden and as far as I can make out she hasn't been in to the puppies at all, she's even sleeping out in the garden.
She has been barking non-stop all day and all night and has severe separation anxiety.

I rang the ispca they said that they won't do anything as long as she has food and drink she's being adequately 'minded' in the eyes of the law.

ok so the above doesn't make sense... they got her from a rescue centre one day after they arrived... most rescue centers do home checks? plus they would have known she was pregnant.....

Apparently not... I don't know, I thought it odd too but that's what they said- she came from a rescue and was dropped over to them 2 hours after they moved in, they had no idea she was pregnant (at first, though they realised a week later and then a week after that they left her alone) she had the puppies 24 after they went on holiday for 2 weeks.

My neighbours also got a surprise litter of puppies when they got a dog last year from a large rescue in Dublin and from talking to other people it's not THAT uncommon. Any idea who the rescue was OP and you could maybe contact them? Or do some detective work and ask the family member?

She may have food and drink, but if she isn't looking after the puppies, somebody needs to see about them surely?

That sounds urgent to me. I can't understand why the SPCA didn't want to know.

Report the situation to the Rescue Centre (if you know which one).
