It could be up to a year if you have to appeal (which most people have to). You're talking months at a minimum. Are you getting any other payment in the interim?

Look into supplementary welfare allowance, if you qualify, they'll give you a payment until a DA decision is made. This is paid through the CWO

    I am 17 (18 in just over 2 weeks) so I don't think I qualify.

Literally it could be 12 months and your still not guaranteed DA .
They will want plenty of evidence to back up your claim

Hey question about SWA. When I'm 18 I can apply and I will get "Maximum personal rate where claimant is between 18 to 24 years inclusive:
    €107.70"... 107 Euro a week?

    For DA it's 198 pw

Providing you satisfy the conditions to get DA

And I was wondering, if I was to attend Youthreach, would the payment rate from Youthreach be added onto the Supplementary Welfare Allowance?

You’ll just get 198 when you go to youthreach.

So only 198 Euro and not 198+198? (youthreach and disibility allowance)

You cannot qualify for two full payments.

No a single guy of 18 couldn’t get 400 a week for doing a course.
A man with a wife and 2 kids to support can only get 392 a week.
    You’ll just get the 198.
