    Hi,

I am planning to go traveling for about 1 year and looking into getting travel insurance. Who have people gone with and what sort of prices did u pay for the year?

    Hi,
Just be sure that your policy covers you for extended trips. Some policies cover you for a year but for each trip lasting no longer that a month. The last time I went for on an extended travel, I took out an policy with World Nomads.

    Happy & safe travels!

I used VHI worldwide as we were considering traveling for over 12 months, with them I found were the only ones we could extend the policy outside the country

    Vhi International Health Insurance https://www.vhi.ie/travel-insurance/international

If you have private health insurance, and plan on being out of the country for more than a year, the VHI International policy is the only way to avoid Lifetime Community Rating loading when you return.
There's a catch; you will have to stay with VHI (changed to one of their domestic policies) for 12 months when you come back.

I have vhi already, I can't seem to find if they cover for doing activities such as hiking and if so, hiking over a certain number of feet. we are thinking to go to Iran and I know some insurance doesn't cover countries like this. I just need to ring them up and find out.
